Coastwest is a State Government initiative aimed at providing opportunities for Western Australians to learn about, conserve and protect our coast. The Department of Planning administers the Coastwest program on behalf of the West Australian Planning Commission.
Fisheries, Western Australia is responsible for the sustainable management of the State’s fisheries and aquatic ecosystems. With a coastline that stretches over 12,500 km, education is a key component to ensuring the sustainability of our aquatic and marine life.
Friends of Marmion Marine Park
The Friends of Marmion Marine Park are a community environmental group interested in helping to conserve and protect Marmion Marine Park. Volunteers are actively involved in the Marine Park, participating in various activities such as annual beach clean-ups, and educating the community about our coastal and marine life through guided interpretive walks and touch pools.
Padbury Senior High School
Padbury Senior High School was a Marine Studies Specialty School with the only accredited Marine Studies Program in the northern suburbs. Students had the opportunity to participate in the marine studies program from Year 8 to 12, and would participate in the Marine and Maritime Technology course of study, gaining them TER credits. The school is now closed permanetly.
